    New heating element/ Smoke on!

After 20+ years of Big Chief smoker use. My heating element finally bit the dust. I realized it may be a challenge to find after discovering NOBODY carries these heating elements any more. I was so happy I searched Smokehouse Products and found the exact element I needed. Delivery was quick & works great. Two batches of smoked salmon later. I am very Happy!

my Heating Element went out just prior to Thanksgiving - Luckily, a friend let me borrow their BIG CHEIF. TBH - It took some time to figure out how to replace the Element, but once I did, it worked perfectly! NOTE to Others.... After removing the screws from the back of the BIG Chief (at the Plug) Fiddle with the plug until it comes off. YouTube didn't even have a video on this process.

    Still Available!

After some 30 years of use, the heating element in my Big Chief finally gave up while making some smoked salmon. Unfortunately, the cord was damaged too. Looks like the cord design did not change, but the element has gone through a couple of design changes over the years. Found the cord on Ebay for $16, and the element here.
Back in business for another 30 years!
